Educators can find information about social maturity and emotional stability, as well as hire me for Race and Equity training for staff.

Educational Consulting

I am Jeannette Schorfheide, a Christian, School Counselor, and Race and Equity trainer. I am the mother of two adult children, a cycling enthusiast, and enjoy writing poetry. I am in the editing stages of publishing my first poetry journal. As someone who has long suffered from anxiety and raised a child with anxiety, I want to help other educators make education fun and safe for all students.

As a life-long learner and a life-long Christian I want to bring my passion and expertise to rural schools as well as parochial schools. Staff and students are coping with more stress than ever before, be it social, emotional, or spiritual. Schools are under tighter budgets and time constraints which leaves them with fewer resources. My services will help teachers and administrators be more creative in their schools and classrooms.

School counselors have been over utilized as assistant administrators and secretaries. While many of the tasks are necessary for the school, Illinois School Code (105 ILSC 5/10-22.24b) recommends that counselors spend 80% of their time counseling students. While most of my services focus on bettering the educational process for students and staff, I am available for consultations between school counselors and administrators to improve the role of school counselor.

  • Social Maturity and Emotional Stability is how we reach each student on a personal level. When we understand who a student is and their story we can better ensure a safe learning environment where they feel understood and accepted.
  • Race and Equity focuses on the microaggressions and biases that are present in each of us. Once we make ourselves aware of our own thoughts or beliefs we can address them and make sure we are not causing any unintentional harm but offering a safe learning environment.
